    Sample Libraries

In order to make sure you get set up correctly the first time, it is advisable to not unzip all of the .zip files at one time, but rather, go step by step through the process outlined. Please note that you can use the archive utility (default on Mac) and/or WinZip on Mac and PC, or any other host of unzipping software available. There is a free version of Winzip for both Mac and PC

    1. Make sure that you've downloaded all .zip files.

All Sample Libraries Edition products will include at least one .zip file for WAV, Apple Loops, and REX file types. Depending on the Software or DAW that you create with, you might only wish to unzip the file type most appropriate to the DAW.

The picture below shows all of the .zip files for the complete Deluxe Edition of the example library. As you can see, the product contains two .zip files for each of the various format types, except for REX.

Always, double-check to make sure that the .zip files you've downloaded correspond to the previous download page zip files.

Step1 - Here are the .zip files contained in the Multi Format folder of the download page, and below it, the associate .zip files downloaded from the Multi Format Folder.

Step2 - Here are the .zip files contained in the Multi Format Drums folder of the download page, and below it, the associate .zip files downloaded from the Multi Format Drums Folder.

    2. Create an empty folder with the name of the library.

Create an empty folder with the name of the library we've purchased which will become our main folder in which all of the format types will be placed.

On Mac (shift/command/n) on PC (shift/alt/n).

    3. Unzip the first folder of your format of choice first.

Step1- Select your DAW's format of choice and unzip the first associated zip file. In the example below, I'm choosing apple1.zip as I'm using Logic Pro X.

After unzipping the  apple1.zip file you will see the picture below. The part1.zip file folder should be the main folder for each of the file types.

Step2- Unzip the part2.zip file. When you unzip the part2.zip file you will be reminded of where to move these subfolders. In the picture below I've unzipped apple2.zip file and have moved them into the Elevate - APPLE LOOPS PT1 subfolder.

Step3 - Now move the subfolder Elevate - APPLE LOOPS to the Home folder as shown in the picture.

Step4 - You can now safely remove both the  APPLE LOOPS Pt1 & 2 subfolders, as well as the apple 1 & 2.zip filesas all of the samples will now be within the Main Home folder.

This is how the final placement should look like for the APPLE LOOPS.

    4. Follow the same process above for each file format.

Simply repeat Step 3 above for each and every file format in the library as needed. Remember, all format sub-folders should end up in the Home folder once unzipped.

    Multitrack Drums

    REX

This is what the final setup and structure should look like. Remember, if you only need one format, then there isn't a need to unzip all of the file types.

All Kontakt Edition libraries will include an Instruments.zip and one or more Samples.zip

    1. Unzip the Instruments folder first

The Instruments folder is the main folder for the library.

    2. Unzip the Samples1.zip file.

    3. Unzip the Samples2.zip file.

Unzip the files and move all of the subfolders to the Samples main folder as in the pictures below. Please note, if there is only a Samples1.zip file then you can proceed to step 4.

    4. Final setup of the folder structure

Step1 - Move the Samples folder which now contains all of the samples to the main product/instruments folder.

Step2 - You can now safely move the zip files and empty "move subfolders to Samples" folder out of the way. Please note that its best to delete the zip files once you have tested the library within Kontakt. Here is what the final folder structure should look like.
